After it was completed, I went back and clipped the extra linen thread and waxed it a few times.

This was one of my first tooling commissions.  A hexagonal waste paper basket.  Hand-stitched and hand-tooled with rambling rose vines.  After 18 years, it is just starting to look good.

Brass Butterfly

Large brass butterfly notched into a thick slab cut from fallen Florida Mahogany trees after a big hurricane.  

Jin di Sugi Cypress barn door

9' tall door made using a turn of the century recipe for Jin di Sugi. 
The cypress is burnt, and then all of the soft grain is wire brushed away.
Raking northern light hits it almost all day making the grain come alive.

I made a chalkboard column for one of my favorite clients.  The chalk holder is a repurposed turn of the century sponge holder, hand-stitched with a green goatskin pouch.
